Your Idol?

Thierry Henry was my idol. I know a huge suprise. The guy was the complete striker, people say about his lack of goals with his head but Shearer summed it up perfectly: “People say he doesn't score a lot of goals with his head, but does he really have to with the ability he has in his feet? He makes spectacular goals look easy. His technique is fantastic.” Still he scored 11 with his head I think. :S I don't think you can name an attribute in a foward player that you would want that Henry didn't have, other than heading ability.

:D

My favourite memeory of Henry. Ok this might take a while. There are so many, his hattrick vs Liverpool, kissing the turf at Highbury after scoring the penalty aggainst Wigan or the goal aggainst Spurs where he ran the ball for the most of the length of the pitch. I think another great memory though would have to be how he outshone Bergkamp, Pires ect.... becuase they are regarded as some of the best to play in the P/L and yet Henry was on another level to both.

I practically had to stop myself from crying when I watched his goodbye message.

I always loved Henry but my Idol is Fabregas. He is such a young player still but seems to have been playing for years and years with his on-pitch maturity and vision and being the captain of such a big club at such a young ago is a huge honour to the guy. His ability to pick out a pass anywhere on the pitch is second to none and he is my favorite footballer ever to watch play :)

MEMORIES:
-The opening goal against Juventus. That was the moment for me when he signed on as a genuine superstar for us, outshining Patrick Vieira on the night.
-The long range goal against AC Milan, we had been trying so hard all leg and we thoroughly deserved that strike when it came.
-The season-long combining with Thierry with pass upon world-class pass to Goonie's Idol up front in 05-06. Some were purely breathtaking.

Roy Keane  Best captain I have ever seen, biggest winner I have ever seen. One of Ireland's, Man Utd's and Premiership's best ever midfield players. Not only could he win games on his own but he made the whole team play better when he was in it. What I'd give to have him back in the team now :(

Memories -
Juventus CL semi in '99
Ireland v Holland and WC '02 qualification campaign where he was heroic throughout the whole lot.

For me it would of course be captaon Marvel Gerrard. He is the complete package for an attacking midfielder and is willing to make out of order to horrible tackles at away games which strikes fear into the opposition :D
He has pulled out so many dramatic moments and he has grab our team by the scruff of the neck and carried us back from the brink so many times
Istanbul and the FA cup final against West Ham were his finest moments

Eric Cantona - the first player i ever took notice of. i was always going to ever only support one team, but i'd like to think he had something to do with my decision to support united. such a joy to watch, with him it wasnt just the stiff football, he was hugely entertaining and always brought a smile to my face. a true united legend.
